Pitbull

In this update of the 2012 episode of Behind the Music, Pitbull chronicles his journey from the streets of Little Havana to becoming Mr. Worldwide. Pitbull discovered hip hop in the sixth grade and spent every waking hour freestyling and making rhymes about the gritty streets of Miami. He began walking the walk and tried to become a hustler himself. Deterred by his family, Pitbull refocused on music and became driven to bring his Spanglish fusion rhymes to the mainstream. But it wasn't always easy. He was often starving in his early touring days and struggled through a challenging relationship with his alcohol addicted father. By 2003, Pitbull's star exploded with multiple Latin hits. In an intimate interview, Pitbull details how he overcame decades of pain and why representing where he's from is essential to his success.
